For my class portraits I will be emulating a street fashion photographer. His name is Scott Schuman and is blog is The Sartorialist. Here is a link:
He typically has a fast set up. He sees someone he wants to photograph, asks them permission, then shoots and is done. I am hoping to get into that same mindset by having short shooting times. I have shot two peoples portraits and both lasted less than five minutes. I will be shooting at random, busy locations around campus so when we have a time set up we need to also choose a location that I have not already used.
They are similar to environmental portraits because they are capturing the person as they are and where they are. However, the main point is to capture something that is intriguing about them (not always having to be fashionable).
I only have one necessity from you guys and that is that you wear something that makes you feel good! When your confident, you look good no mater what. So throw on your favorite outfit, item of clothing, or color and meet me out there!
Please email me at vxs7229@rit.edu to set up a time and place to meet if we haven't already!
Thanks,
Victoria
